The space between land and sea is incredibly small. No thanks to tourists, whites and asians alike, who want their sea to be as close as possible to their rooms. As a result, the hotel operators started defying regulations and built the hotels closer and closer to the sea...

The facade of the church. I wonder if this is still standing, after the tsunami. It was also in the toilet of this church where I had my warning (the unlit toilet was flooded with deep maroon lighting!) about an impending disaster. True enough, the tsunami struck barely two weeks after I returned.
